Follow our handy ‘How to’ guide here to make your friends or loved ones a
‘no added nonsense’ valentines day card and bag yourself 2 of your 5 a day
in the creative process. Grrreat.

DIY Valentine’s Card Lesson No. 1
Get a Yo Yo’s pack & some scissors. Take care if you’re an accident prone bear though. Lack of opposable thumbs can be an issue.
Cut the top & bottom off the pack, removing the Yo Yo’s & eating them (Lady & the Tramp style if you wish).

DIY Valentine’s Card Lesson No. 2
Carefully fold the pack, making sure that BEAR’s lips, paws and feet are attached to the fold.
Then, start cutting round BEAR, but DON’T CUT the folds next to his lips, paws & feet, so that he’ll be able to kiss his furry friend though.

DIY Valentine’s Card Lesson No. 3
Fold out, write your message and display in a forest-like environment.
Ta na!!! Furry Valentine’s cards galore.

News from the Farms

When the sun heads south, so do our team of fruit foragers. Not just to top up their tan (maybe a teeny weeny bit) but to bring you back the best of the southern hemisphere spoils.

This season Hayley and Andrew went on an epic adventure through Peru, Ecuador and Costa Rica in search of the pawfect mangos and pineapples.

When Andrew met this triple crowned pineapple we thought it a match made in the hair-salon.

Christmas Tree Critters

We have been busy sprucing up our cave with Christmas decorations made from our yoyo fact cards. It’s so easy and grrreat fun too. All you need is your bear family fact cards, some glue, glitter and string.  They make pawfect tree decorations or table decorations for Christmas day. You can either sandwich the cards back to back or leave one sided if you’re sick of cheesy cracker jokes and prefer some grrreat bear facts.

BEAR’s top 5 Festive facts

• US scientists calculated that Santa would have to visit 822 homes a second to deliver all the world’s presents on Christmas Eve, travelling at 650 miles a second.
• MANY parts of the Christmas tree can actually be eaten, with the needles being a good source of Vitamin C. We’re not recommending you eat your tree though!
• SINCE 1947 Oslo has sent an Xmas tree to London to thank us for our help in the Second World War.
• THERE are 13 Santas in Iceland, each leaving a gift for children. They come down from the mountain one by one, starting on December 12 and have names like Spoon Licker, Door Sniffer and Meat Hook.

Here at Bear we are growling about our nibbles as they are pawfect for stocking fillers for adults and kids, a healthy treat to enjoy amongst the chocolate.

We have been busy making Christmas decorations for bear’s cave! So easy and fun too, with a couple of fact cards back to back and some glitter glue they make pawfect tree decorations.

The Women of the Future Awards celebrate successful and inspirational young women under the ages of 35 in Britain today. Now in their sixth year, the awards continue to unearth and recognise the exciting stars of tomorrow across diverse sectors. Here’s Hayley in a frilly frock winning the ‘Entrepreneur Of The Future’ category for founding your favourite brand of grrr-liscious no nonsense nibbles.

No trees? We can’t get cosy here

Our Bear friend Will the chainsaw carver made us some grrreat stuff for the cave. Will is now held in the highest regrrrd since we found out he lives in the woods and sleeps in a hammock. He’s really wild. Grrr.

Will carved our tree pillars, oak picnic table for meetings, trees shelves and even a bear (which only took 20 minutes!!) Check out his website and all the BEARilliant stuff he does.

He brought our trees to life, and painted a chalkboard cave for our scribbles. He also brought along some of our forest friends like bonkers batty here….

But long before her grrrand appearance the Bear team arose with the sparrows to sneak around the misty morning woods hiding giant animal fact cards and painting paw prints on the trail. Besides a few fuddled looking dogs sniffing bears freshly laid tracks, the woods was magically silent at 6am and full of paw-romise for the festivities ahead.

Hours later the rowdy rabble arrived bringing with them over-excited cubs bearing handmade birthday cards for Bear. Ahhhh (we mean Grrr)

The day was a growling success with a bearilliant turnout of around 1000 humans and 32 dogs. But what really knocked our furry socks off was meeting 6 families who enjoyed our 1st birthday party so much they’d driven several hours to be at this one. Unbearlievable to feel so much Bear love.

All the cubs (& a few daring grrrown ups) had animal face painting, followed by birthday cake and the Forest Party Trail. Nobody leaves a Bear’s birthday empty pawed so everyone got a goody bag full of tasty treats to end a grrreat day.
