Grrr to the Government

The Government is withdrawing all funding from its own healthy eating schemes such as change4life and has announced power is to be given to the food giants such as Mars, Cadbury’s and Coca-Cola in the fight against obesity…

BEAR snarls at this decision and we’re off to the Government to grrrowl our case

Get behind BEAR in campaigning to stop these companies from taking control of the UK obesity battle and help companies such as BEAR, who already care and work hard to provide truly healthy and delicious food to the UK get an equal opportunity in helping get our nation healthier.

Yes these companies have lots of money, but this is advertising for them. This sends out very confusing messages to children. We have a real issue with childhood and adult obsesity and can't ignore the role that junk food plays.

Yet another way the government is failing today's children.

Does the government actually want the nation to be healthy? I work in childhood obesity and it makes me really sad to think that the government are not supporting all the health professionals and companies/agencies doing their bit to reduce obesity!

cheryl bonham,
being a former morbidly obese person I totally support your cause to get the government to make healthy food more accessible. x

Ironically you are proving the Governement’s point that the private sector is more than capable of promoting healthy eating. Never heard of you til I saw your poster. Keep up the good work! ;¬)

Hello Chief – we agree the private sector is capable. We do it with our go BEAR! days and the fact that all we make is healthy snacks. What we’re a little disappointed with, is the choice of companies within the private sector the government’s given responsibility to make this change happen. We may be proven wrong, and Mars, Coke and Cadbury’s could pull it out the bag and really do some good for the country’s obesity and fitness problem, but so far, they’ve all said very little about it. Which worries us, hence the growling…
